About the Role:

Casual Care workers are used to fill the gaps in our staff team. Covering annual leave, sickness and vacancies. Our casual care workers play a vital role ensuring that our services run smoothly and safely. Their flexibility, passion and skills are used across all our services, working alongside our current Support Workers.

Helping our residents with their day to day lives, encouraging them to live as independently as possible, this is a personally rewarding role where you can build on your skills and experience, whilst delivering exceptional care and support to our service users and their families.

Having a background in supporting people with Autism in a previous role within a social care environment is desirable, although it isn\'t essential. What is essential is that you understand that autism can be complex and challenging and that each person we support is unique.

About the Service:- Curlew Crescent

Curlew Crescent is a unique building, built around 1994. It is a residential service that supports 6 individuals aged between 43 to 49 with autism and other complex needs such as epilepsy.

Some of the people we support can show verbally challenging behaviour such as shouting and raising their voice and on occasion throwing things and lashing out. Personal Care is also required for one of the people we support.

Due to the current situation with Covid19 we are restricted with the activities we can do with the people we support but we try not to let that get in the way and try as best we can to replicate the activities in the safest way possible. Such as Disney PJ days, building snowmen and a 6 ft one, bingo nights, baking cookies for valentines and 2-hour long walks, keeping their minds active and healthy.

Everyone we support at Curlew is unique and we pride ourselves on treating everyone as individuals.
