HOURLY RATE OF PAY: £9.87p.h.

HOURS: 31.5

SHIFT: 10.30pm to 7.30am, 3 days on 3 days off on a 6 week rolling rota.

LOCATION: Brompton House, Brompton High St, Gillingham Kent

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Waking Night Support workers help our residents to feel safe and secure throughout the night. Delivering exceptional care and support to ensure that our residents live as independently as possible. They will also maintain the cleanliness of the service and carry out necessary utility checks. This is a personally rewarding role where you can build on your skills and experience. Having a background in supporting people with Autism in a previous role within a social care environment is desirable, although it is not essential. What is essential is that you understand that autism can be complex and challenging and that each person we support is unique.

Training Provided:

o Online Care Certificate and evidence portfolio (accept transferable evidenced certificate)
o 5 days virtual induction covering autism and care compliance
o 3 days Studio III
o Epilepsy
o First Aid
o On the job observation and assessments


About the Service: Brompton House

We are currently looking to grow our already established and dedicated team of support workers at Brompton House, one of our Specialist Supported Living Establishments that provides 24 hour support.

It has 7 individual flats over 4 floors. Currently supporting 5 autistic individuals aged between 25 to 36, who also have other additional needs.

They enjoy activities such as taking long walks or swimming and communal activities such as barbeques.

Everyone we support is unique and at Brompton House they pride themselves on supporting everyone in their own individual way.

Responsibilities:

The Waking Night Support Worker role may include but not be limited to:

o Routine safety checks on individuals and their environment
o Ensure the service is safe and secure
o Household management tasks cooking, cleaning etc.
o Administering medication
o Assisting individuals with personal care and hygiene
o Ensuring written records are correctly maintained
o Will include lone working
o Working with individuals who can display challenging behaviours - hurting self or others, running away, throwing things, swearing, shouting.
o Working with and supporting individuals with additional needs, such as epilepsy, pica, learning disabilities.
o Understanding each individuals abilities and support needs
o Promoting independence and choice
o Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion
o Uphold the privacy, confidentially and dignity of all individuals
o To form good working relationships with other members of staff across different services.
o A commitment to continuous personal development and learning.
