Do you have experience of dealing with research or innovation proposal development, including pricing and bid submissions? If so this role may be ideal. As a Grants & Contracts Officer you will be responsible for the development and management of a range of externally funded research & innovation projects for the University. In this role the focus is support for externally funded postgraduate studentships at application and post-award stages.

You will be responsible for providing budgeting and application support to academics and professional services staff. On award, you will negotiate terms with businesses and other organisations contracting with the University and agree final contracts for research & innovation projects.

As Grants & Contracts Officer you will:

Undertake the costing, pricing and obtain approvals for projects, in accordance with University protocols
Guide a portfolio of funding applications and tenders through all stages of the application process, to maximise chances of success
Prepare and negotiate all contractual documentation required with external organisations
To be successful in the role you will have/be:

Legal qualification and/or knowledge and experience in contracts management and relevant legislation
Experience of working in a financial environment
An understanding/awareness of the research and innovation funding landscape and the rules and regulations of a wide variety of funders that are available to university academics
An understanding and/or appreciation of the HE sector and the key challenges and strategic issues facing research and innovation in a HE environment
