Application Form

Development Manager

Negotiable

Croydon, Greater London

Clarion Housing Group Ltd

Salary: Competitive

Hours: 36 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

We're looking for a diligent Development Manager to join our Development Management team at Latimer. You'll be responsible for the appraisal, design oversight and securing of planning permissions for multiple high profile residential-led developments for the business.

Latimer is the development arm of Clarion Housing Group. We exist to build homes and create communities, but what sets Latimer apart is our long-term commitment to the people who live in our homes. Our model is not to build and then move onto the next site. We are long-term stewards of place, committed to building sustainable and thriving communities. We are a commercial part of a social business, reinvesting our profits back into building more affordable homes and supporting Clarion residents.

The Development Management team within Latimer supports the Land and Regeneration teams to identify, secure and bring forward land-led projects, JV acquisitions and estate regeneration projects. We are then responsible for leading the delivery of viable planning permissions that secure exemplar sustainable design, placemaking and land stewardship, in co-ordination with the Project Management & Commercial, Delivery, Sales and Housing Association teams.

About the role

With an exciting pipeline of new projects, we're looking for a total of four highly skilled and self-motivated individuals with a proven track record of front-end development management for residential-led projects in either the private or RP sector. Two candidates will join the Development Management (Regeneration) team and two candidates will join the Development Management (London and South) team. All four roles have a primary focus post site-identification or land acquisition, through to successful planning permission, also undertaking certain Development tasks post planning up to start on site.

In the regeneration role, you'll be working closely with the Senior Development Manager who leads this specialism within the Development Management Team. Working on a variety of significant projects regenerating existing Clarion assets across London and the South East, you'll take lead DM responsibility for ensuring they meet the commercial objectives defined in the relevant approvals / business plan.

In the DM (London and South) role, you'll also be working closely with one of the Senior Development Managers in the team, but taking lead DM responsibility for one or more of our land-led or JV projects. We have robust funding to invest in new opportunities and currently have 16 live sites in this regional team alone, with these being on-track to deliver more than 6,200 new homes.

You'll play a key role in shaping the success of the team, bringing forward opportunities and delivering new homes that allow Latimer to make a step change towards the achievement of its ambitious sustainability and MMC targets, as well as delivering much needed affordable homes. We're a new team that brings pride to our work and wants to make a real difference.

If you feel your attributes, experience and skillset match our requirements, then we'd love to hear from you. In return we can offer you a competitive salary, car allowance, bonus and generous benefits package in a supportive environment, with plenty of scope for your career advancement.

Closing Date: Tuesday 16th August at midnight

Applicants will be required to travel regularly across the London and South of England region.
