Locks 4 Vans was established in 2003 and is now the largest UK business supplying commercial automotive supplementary security locks, and still growing.
Due to expansion and internal staff promotion we are looking for an assistant to join our busy accounts office. You will be primarily responsible for managing the purchase ledger, petty cash management and admin duties in assisting credit control.
Attention to detail and accuracy are top priority. After completing a period of probation, you will be expected to provide cover for the credit controller and some duties for the Accounts Manager. This is a progressive position for the right candidate.
Main Duties include:
• Processing purchase invoices and credit notes.
• Preparing suppliers fortnightly payment run for authorisation.
• Posting the payments on the system and emailing remittance advices.
• Opening new supplier accounts where needed.
• Answering phones and dealing with enquiries.
• Dealing with all queries related to purchase ledger both internally and with suppliers.
• HMRC and Banking duties.
• Petty cash management and month end reconciliation.
• Posting journals as required
• Experian credit checking and updating notes on customer accounts.
• Filing.
Other Duties where necessary include:
• Taking customer credit card payments.
• Posting customer payments on the system sales ledger.
• Reconciling daily customer credit card payment report to system and making notes.
• Updating and use of spreadsheets.
• More tasks will be added as the company progresses and other more senior duties become available.
• Ad-hock duties as required.
Systems used:
• SAP accounts package preferable (other packages advantageous).
• Excel spreadsheets and word.
• Windows Office 10.
• Outlook.
The Applicant:
• Will need to have 5+ years experience of purchase ledger.
• Diploma or certification in accounting / finance preferred but not essential.
• Have attention to detail and be thorough.
• Good communication, organisational and time management skills.
