Your new role
You will be working in either Early Years, KS1 and KS2 and will be working with small groups and on a 1:1 basis running interventions for pupils for numeracy and literacy and will need to demonstrate your experience within this setting. You will take responsibility for ensuring that the classroom is ready for learning each day and create any educational resources that are required. You will organise and run intervention, phonics and maths groups and take responsibility for identifying any pupils that need additional support. You will develop and deliver bespoke ILPs enabling pupils to overcome barriers to learning. You will assist the classroom teacher in monitoring and assessing the development of pupils in your class, providing verbal and written feedback.
What you'll need to succeed
It is essential that you have previous and recent classroom-based experience and be NVQ qualified. You will have a thorough understanding of the British National Curriculum and child development which you are able to implement in a classroom setting. You will be a flexible individual, who is able to successfully manage challenging behaviour and have knowledge of the SEN code of practice. You will be familiar with ILPs and target setting. Essentially you will have exceptional communication skills and be highly organised.
