Engineering Apprenticeships – Fire & Security Industry
As part of the continued success of Senseco Systems Ltd, we are delighted to announce our Fire Alarm Apprentice Scheme. We are able to offer 2 positions, to successful candidates.
The positions available are located in the Gillingham, Kent area. Our Apprentice engineers will be trained in the service and maintenance of high-performance fire detection systems. The role involves on site visits liaising with the end user to carry out the routine maintenance of their fire alarm systems.
During the service visit itself you will be working alongside our more experienced maintenance engineers; you will gain exposure to a variety of Life Protection Systems and gain an understanding of the processes required to carry out the routine maintenance, installation and system commissioning. The systems you will work on will vary in type range from small to large complex multi-panel networked systems. Once you have a good understanding of all the service elements and where required, you will assist our ‘On demand’ engineers rectifying faults further developing your knowledge of Life Protection Systems.
In house training; both theory and practical, will be provided by our team of existing Engineers. This will further be supported with a City & Guilds or another industry recognised qualification/apprenticeship programme. You will be required to attend college on a regular basis. This will be over a period of 33 months and will provide expert training focussed on electrical principles and a broad and extensive “Knowledge of Electronic Security and Emergency Systems” focusing on the Fire Detection Systems pathway along with core electrical principles theory.
Potential candidates should possess a minimum of 4 GCSE’s grade ‘C’ or above to include English, Maths, Physics and another more practical application, relating to Engineering. Candidates ideally will be in possession of a full clean UK driving licence, or working towards or have accessible transport arrangements, as the role will work towards a small company vehicle in order to get from site to site.
