Leeds Castle in Kent is one of the country’s leading heritage visitor attractions, welcoming over 550,000 visitors each year. As well as the 900 year old castle we have estate buildings, holiday cottages, bed and breakfast accommodation and modern domestic properties.

The Maintenance Technician will work as part of the Maintenance Team undertaking all maintenance and building tasks to assist in the compliance, refurbishment and repair of Castle and estate buildings and services. This role is part of the ‘call out’ team and there is a requirement to live permanently on site and accommodation will be provided.

Reporting to the Assistant Estate Services Manager, the successful applicant will undertake preventative and corrective maintenance of the Castle and estate buildings and infrastructure to ensure compliance. This will include, fire safety systems, electrical systems, water systems, building works, brickwork, tiling, roofing, paving, plastering, decorating and all other aspects of the building trade as required.

They will Inspect, identify and determine the extent of allocated works to use appropriate techniques, materials and tools to undertake the work using methods of good practice, to the required standard and legislation.

They will use computer maintenance management system (CMMS) and mobile devices to report and record all work activity accurately. This will also include all administrative duties required to fulfil the role.

To succeed in this role the successful applicant must demonstrate a positive, proactive and flexible approach in delivering a high quality customer-focused service to staff and visitors to the Castle and Grounds. This will also include supporting not only maintenance activities but also events when requested, on a 5/7 day working week.
