Business Development Manager - IT Managed Services
Sittingbourne, Kent (Remote/office/field based, covering predominantly South-East & London).

Maybe it is now time for a change? A time to make a step up in New Business development but for a leading MSP. Our client provides IT Solutions specialising in platform hosting, network infrastructure, data centre and business continuity services for small, medium and large enterprises, public sector and Education organisations, as well as other service providers.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated sales professional who has the drive and ability to close new business and exceed sales targets in a business to business environment, with an enthusiastic can-do attitude and a belief that anything can be achieved.
In return, you will receive a great package including a competitive salary, uncapped commission, travel expenses and other benefits. Working hours: Monday to Friday 8.45 - 5.15.
Established for over 30 years the company’s facilities include multiple data centres, a dedicated disaster recovery suite, nationwide ISP and 24/7 network operations centre. They have continued sustained growth and are currently experiencing further rapid expansion.
Due to this company growth, they are expanding the Sales Team with a dedicated new Business Development Manager, the Roles, Responsibilities & Expectations will include (but not be limited to):
· Generation of new name business through the intelligent application of direct prospecting and networking techniques
· Developing a sustained pipeline of accounts by actively prospecting via cold-calls, marketing lead follow-up, personal relationships, executive introductions and marketing automation introductions to independently close contracts at a close frequency and value to meet or exceed productivity and quota expectations
· Contact potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings
· Attend onsite and virtual conferences, meetings and industry events
· Undertaking networking, email and phone campaigns, face to face meetings and presentations
· Placing significant value on all opportunities, ensuring each is personally handled with a sense of importance using appropriate supporting resources in a proficient and timely manner
· Accurately capturing and understanding existing and prospective customer requirements, engaging internal and external sales, procurement, provisioning and technical resources and developing a fit for purpose solution with commercial awareness
· Maximising revenue and opportunity from new opportunities
· Generating accurate and timely quotations/proposals for new clients
· Following up on quotations and proposals
· Achievement of hard and soft monthly, quarterly and annual targets
Essential skills:
· 3 years of B2B sales experience selling a variety of Managed Services
· Have a proven track record in achieving sales targets and generating new business
· Must be sales-focused with the ability to self-manage and create an active pipeline
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to confidently converse with decision makers at all levels
· Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
· Attention to detail and good time management
· Have the ability to multi-task and grow within a quickly evolving business environment
· Be positive in attitude and communication, with a can-do approach
· Be able to demonstrate an ability to work autonomously and have a stable work history
· Have an interest in keeping yourself updated with latest services, technologies and market knowledge
The successful candidate should have:
· Strong industry knowledge in IT Managed Services including IT Support, Cloud, Backup, Security, Connectivity and VoIP solutions
· Proficient Microsoft licensing knowledge, Volume, SPLA, M365 & Office 365
· A good understanding of Backup and DR technologies, including Business Continuity
· A good understanding of Cyber Security technologies and Data Protection policies
· The ability to keep up to date with evolving technologies
· Provide clear and precise information that is understood on a basic level by technical and non-technical individuals
· Good commercial awareness and understanding of business needs, from SMEs - Enterprise levels
Desirable competencies:
· Microsoft Volume Licensing Sales Specialists - Accreditation
· Microsoft 365 Sales Specialists - Accreditation
· Microsoft Azure Sales Specialists - Accreditation
· WatchGuard Security Sales Specialists - Accreditation
This is a new business-focussed role with some account management responsibilities. Qualified Leads will be provided, but self-lead generation is required. The ideal candidate will be a competent sales person with experience of selling managed services, that is well-presented and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong written and presentation capabilities are required and they should be able to demonstrate a competent level of commercial awareness with previous experience of successful sales.
The Business Development Manager role is based primarily at the Head Office in Sittingbourne with the ability to work from home during this remote working state, onsite meetings and video conferencing as required. A full driving license, your own transportation, and a willingness to travel are prerequisites.
