We are looking for an experienced, motivated and proactive Technical Product Owner, taking ownership of our client's Core strategic roadmap and working with relevant teams to drive their products forward. The role will be predominantly home-based, but the ideal candidate will live in Kent or the surrounding areas, as you will be regularly meeting with the CTO.

We need a product evangelist who has experienced the ups and downs of product delivery and has worked in a technically driven environment, delivering performant, reliable and quality services, applications and products.

You’ll be comfortable and knowledgeable with Agile and Scrum and have worked with development teams of different disciplines while driving a technical strategic roadmap. You’ll work closely with the CTO to create and deliver a roadmap which supports the core business goals, while also identifying opportunities to innovate and improve on the current status quo. You’ll ensure delivery of your roadmap and work closely with your team to instil a sense of ownership and responsibility in what they deliver. You’ll have a passion for getting the most out of your applications, services and products through solid stakeholder management and strong technical foundations.

You should have a product and technical background and have experience of working closely with development teams. You should also have experience of defining and owning and technical driven roadmap that supports the business and customer goals.

You should be a strong communicator, able to present your vision to your team and the wider business, while also willing to challenge and innovate on the current landscape. This should be coupled with an ability to deliver of key product and business goals.

As a core member of the team the Technical Product Owner be required to:

· Work closely with CTO and technical leads to define a strategic roadmap for the Core products.

· Build a deep understanding of partners/customers and their needs, while remaining at the forefront of current and emerging technologies

· Lead requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders and manage change in relation to specified requirements, including assessment of impact, communication, and supporting planning and prioritisation as appropriate

· Ensure development practices and quality is best-in-class, and confidence is created in the resilience and robustness of the deliverables.

Essential requirements of the Technical Product Owner:

· Experienced in gathering functional and non-functional requirements, producing specifications and writing user/system stories

· Strong knowledge of multiple technical areas: ability to understand cloud products, software scalability, security and technical debt

· An ability to operate at many levels within an organisation

· Experience working with an Agile team, and of Agile product development

· Delivery-focused with attention to quality; reliability, functionality and usability

· A proven track record of strong technical delivery through multiple teams; defining and managing a strategic backlog

· Ability to be flexible and organised with a product backlog and multiple products, stories or feature developments

· Motivated, passionate and proactive about delivery of value to the business and customer

· Willingness to challenge the business when opportunities arise, and identify opportunities to innovate
