Are you an experienced educational professional passionate about helping young people from disadvantaged groups make informed choices about their futures?
If so, and you are looking for a new challenge which draws upon your knowledge of current teaching strategies in schools, this part-time (21 hours per week) opportunity in the Uni Connect/Kent and Medway Progression Federation (KMPF) team could be the ideal next step for you.
This is a key role responsible for overseeing the delivery of collaborative outreach to participating schools across the region.
You will work closely with a range of agencies, staff and students to ensure that the Partnership's outreach and progression programmes are effective and that they can adapt quickly in response to monitoring, evaluation and changing priorities. Essential to this are skills in building and sustaining relationships and an ability to work collaboratively on projects that will support the educational attainment of young people.
The national Uni Connect project is funded by the Office for Students to ensure that significantly more young people from the most disadvantaged backgrounds in Kent and Medway progress to study at the level of higher education. It builds upon the strong collaborative base that universities and schools in Kent and Medway already have established through KMPF.
What you can expect to get involved in day to day
leading on the development of the Attainment Raising Outreach Programmes, working with partners to establish and pilot a programme ready for 2023-24
working with schools to understand their support needs in terms of Attainment Raising and presenting to working groups and HEI partners
contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of programmes and using data to inform practice
overseeing the KMPF schools' outreach strategy, ensuring it links to the overarching KMPF strategy and reflects participating school priorities and needs
What you will bring to this role
a teaching or training qualification (including assessor's awards) or the equivalent experience
experience of working with schools and young people, especially those from under-represented social groups from low-income backgrounds
knowledge of the current educational landscape in a secondary setting and an understanding of the National Curriculum
demonstrable experience of innovation and creativity and proven impact in the development and implementation of programmes and curriculum
skills in working collaboratively and achieving consensus when developing strategic and operational plans
