We are looking to recruit an experienced Learning Support Practitioner (LSP) to join the Additional Learning Support Team in Hadlow. The LSP will provide support to students with learning differences and other barriers studying Further Education courses across all levels including Foundation Learning, Skills for Working Life.

Roles and responsibilities may include providing personal care, one to one or group support in a classroom, practical or workshop setting, on work experience, and during unstructured time.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, hold a level 2 or 3 learning support qualification or be prepared to undertake the appropriate training. They must be able to provide proof of a minimum Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in maths and English. Proven experience of working with students with learning differences is also desirable, particularly; speech language and communication, autistic spectrum condition, dyslexia, ADHD, physical needs, and behaviour, emotional and social difficulties.

In addition to the minimum requirements detailed above the post holder must possess a high standard of IT skills and be able to demonstrate that they can work flexibly as part of a team.

This is a part time, term time only role working weekly hours as follows:

Monday 10.00 – 3.30pm
Tuesday 9.00 – 3.30pm
Wednesday 9.30- 1.00pm
Friday 10.30 – 4.30pm

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) and to provide proof of their right to work in the UK. Where applicable a prohibition check will be carried out.
