Your new company
Hays are working exclusively with a Children's home in Meopham. Together we are recruiting for Residential Support Workers. We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and passionate people to become an integral part of the support team. In this role, you will support young people and be responsible for providing compassionate care during your time with them.

Your new role
As a Residential Support Worker you will engage with children and young people aged 8 - 18 years with EBD, complex behaviours and challenging behaviours. Previous experience with children and young people is desirable however, support will be available with the training and guidance you need once you've joined the team. The overall focus of the home is to achieve positive outcomes for young people, achieved through multi-agency working, personalised care planning and creating positive attachments.

Responsibilities


* Contribute to the effective implementation of individual programmes by supporting the care, teaching and learning, social and independence activities and experiences, which enhance the learning and development of Children and Young People.
* Manage the well-being and behaviour of Children and Young People ensuring any significant behavioural or physical occurrences are promptly addressed and reported, referring to a senior colleague as appropriate.
* Assists senior colleagues with the compilation of care and learning plans. Prepares incident and other reports and updates daily records and logs as required.
* Maintains professional relationships whilst developing a good rapport with young people, students, pupils, colleagues, visitors, and other stakeholders.
* Adapts newly proven techniques within registered home
* Ensures young people who use our services are getting value for their money

What you'll need to succeed

All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with Disclosure & Barring Service and at least 2 references which cover the last 3 years; for all our services we will request references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults.

QCF level 3 Diploma in relevant care/children & young people related area or equivalent orhigher recognised qualification is desirable.
