Our client are seeking a talented and experienced ATU Engineer to join our team. As an ATU Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and validation of Automatic Transfer Units (ATUs) for automotive applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality and reliable products that meet customer requirements and industry standards.

Duties include:
• Develop and design ATUs using CAD software and other engineering tools.
• Conduct engineering analysis and simulations to ensure proper functionality and performance of ATUs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers, to integrate ATUs into overall vehicle systems.
• Participate in the prototype build and validation process, including testing and data analysis.
• Identify and resolve technical issues and design challenges during the development phase.
• Perform design reviews and provide technical support to manufacturing teams during production launch.
• Conduct failure mode analysis, root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to ATUs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, optimising design processes, and enhancing product performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with suppliers and participate in supplier selection and development activities.


The successful candidate will have / be:
• Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid experience in the design and development of automotive drivetrain components, preferably ATUs.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX) and engineering simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB).
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components, particularly in drivetrain and transfer case applications.
• Familiarity with engineering standards and regulations governing automotive products.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles is a plus.
• Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and quality control methods.
