An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Buyer within our client's renowned fresh produce business. This role is pivotal for individuals passionate about enhancing profitability through strategic procurement and fostering robust supplier relationships.

About Our Client: Our client is a leader in the fresh produce sector, committed to delivering quality and driving innovation in food processing. They value professional growth, collaboration, and maintaining high standards in their procurement practices.

Role Overview:

* Market Analysis: Research and analyse national and international markets, understanding competitor strategies.
* Price Negotiation: Establish weekly and seasonal prices with growers and suppliers to ensure profitability and positive supplier returns.
* Supplier Relationships: Maintain and expand supplier networks, ensuring quality and conformity of supply. This role includes travel to Europe.
* Efficiency Improvement: Review procurement processes for cost savings and efficiency enhancements.
* Quality Assurance: Work closely with internal teams to assess consignments and participate in the claims process as needed.

Your Profile:

* Preferably 2+ years in fresh produce procurement.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong numeracy skills.
* Demonstrated commercial awareness in a fresh produce environment.
* Proven negotiation and networking capabilities.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Self-motivated with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
* Analytical thinker with a flexible approach to work.
