Are you passionate about promoting a safe and healthy work environment? Do you have experience in coordinating health safety and environmental initiatives? If so, we have a perfect opportunity for you! We are currently seeking a dedicated Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator for one of our engineering client based in Rochester.

Type of Position: Full-Time

Shift Pattern: 37.50 hours a week, Monday – Thursday 08.15-17.00, Friday 08.30-13.15)

Salary: £30,000

Key Responsibilities:
• To maintain and support enforcement of the company’s health and safety policies.
• To support enforcement of the company’s environmental policies.
• To maintain accurate risk assessments and safe systems of work for all operational activities.
• To manage the company’s compliance, in accordance with its legal register, with the requirements of COSHH, working at height, lifting equipment, manual handing, noise etc.
• To train the workforce in safe methods of working.
• To Investigate works accidents, improving and deploying policy and procedural updates where appropriate.

The role will require preparing and conducting regular training sessions with shop floor employees to ensure they are kept up to date on policy and best practice. To organise external regulatory checks, on time, for specialist activities like noise, workplace exposure and emissions.

Key Competencies:
· Have a NEEBOSH general certificate.
· Have a background in engineering, ideally in the foundry industry.
· Have a Science or Chemistry GCSE at grade C or above.
· Have a good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling projects.
· Be comfortable dealing directly with employees of all levels.
· Have experience in a health and safety role.
· Have experience training and presenting in groups.
· Have a high level of IT literacy - much of the role will involve creating and giving presentations.
