The Carmelite Charitable Trust is the registered charity (no. 1061342) which supports the various works and initiatives of the British Province of Carmelites. The role is based at the Shrine of Saint Jude in Faversham, which is run by the Trust, and income generated by our office supports the work of the charity in the UK and around the world. We are a well-established charity in Faversham which has existed since 1955.
The post holder will work in the Shrine Office team to administer the day-to-day work at the shrine (including the welcome centre, information centre, shrine and grounds). In this position, you will also work closely with other fundraising colleagues to increase income generation, stewardship of our supporters, and help the team to achieve annual fundraising targets. The post holder must possess good Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills, and the ability to learn other skills.
This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and committed person to join our dynamic and growing team. This permanent position (after probation) is ideally suited to someone with an office background who would like to develop a career in a busy and supportive workplace. You do not need to be Christian to take on this role, but will need a level of comfort and be respectful of working in a Christian church context.
Though ideally, we would like someone to be in the office each day of the working week, we can be flexible about this if another way works better for you.
