Assembly Operative

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Assembly Operative to join our client's manufacturing team on a temporary, ad-hoc basis. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling a wide range of air handling units.

Hours of work are Monday-Friday 07.00-15.00.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing or sheet metal experience who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Fabricate and assemble air handling units and associated components.
* Assemble parts and sub-assemblies using hand and power tools.
* Position and align components manually or using lifting equipment where required.
* Carry out occasional welding of components.
* Conduct quality control inspections throughout the assembly process.
* Measure completed components to ensure they meet specifications.
* Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
* Maintain tools, equipment and work areas to a high standard.
* Perform routine equipment checks and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
* Follow all company health and safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
* Occasionally travel to customer sites within the UK and overseas to support installation or resolve service issues.

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

* Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
* Experience working with sheet metal.
* Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
* The ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
* Good attention to detail with a strong focus on quality.
* Good manual dexterity and practical skills.
* Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move materials safely.
* A good understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong communication skills.
* The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable

* Welding experience.
