We are looking for an I.T. System Administrator to join our client's team, working at their Head Office in Maidstone.

The successful candidate will be responsible for an office/warehouse/e-commerce backend infrastructure. Duties will include monitoring of the network infrastructure, fixing of problems, designing and implementing new infrastructure solutions as well as some project work (scripting / coding).

In order to be suitable for this position, you must have proven experience working in a Systems Engineer, Windows/Linux Systems Administrator or similar role covering server, networking and application support/administration and experience implementing solutions as well as maintaining them.

This role requires a broad technical skill set including Windows Server 2008-2019, VMware (ESXi), SAN/NAS systems, TCP/IP, switch and firewall setup and administration (ideally, D-Link, Juniper). You will be expected to work on-site for the majority of the week, responding to requests and emergencies across the company.

Essential skills

• Good all-around experience of multiple infrastructure technologies
• Advanced Microsoft Server Skills, VMware ESXi including build/configuration and maintenance
• Microsoft Active Directory, IIS, DNS, DHCP, RDS
• Some scripting experience - PowerShell, VBScript, Python, Batch, etc.
• Tape backup systems - setup and maintenance
• Networking experience, VLANs, VPNs, troubleshooting, topologies
• Advance knowledge of security systems and configurations
• MS SQL server and MySQL server administration.
• Linux System administration (basic to medium knowledge)
• Ability to undertake new project work, research and design solutions
• Build, maintain servers - virtual and physical (including good knowledge and understanding of server hardware and performance optimisations)
• Three years of proven experience working as Systems Administrator

• Tape backup based on Symantec products
• HP and Dell server knowledge
• Synology product knowledge
• Linux desktop / server knowledge
• Firewall configuration based on Juniper OS technology
• Any programming / development experience (desktop apps / web apps)
• Synology solutions applications (VPN, calendar, file sharing, remote access, etc.)
• Mail Server and Mail archive administration based on MDaemon tools.
