Our client is looking for a desktop support engineer to be based at their Head Office in Maidstone.
Ideal candidates will have:
• A solid foundational knowledge and experience with Microsoft and Windows technologies
• Confident addressing and understanding technical issues presented by clients
• Have the ability to build good rapport and relationships with clients to become their go-to person for IT support
Primary Skills Required:
• Windows OS/Desktop installation/upgrades and problem-solving
• Basic Windows Server skills (shares, firewall)
• Active Directory configurations (printers, accounts)
• Network troubleshooting (printers, workstations, wi-fi)
• Application support - installation and configuration (mainly Outlook, browsers, Office 365, antivirus, etc.)
• Understanding of virtualisation technologies
• Remote assistance
• Good troubleshooting skills
• Ability to upgrade hardware (CPUs, disk cloning, RAM, Motherboards, etc.)
The ideal candidate will have
• 2 years of experience in this role
• An IT related A-Level or Degree is a bonus
• Basic knowledge in installation and configuration of any flavour of Linux
• Experience with MacOSX
