Albion Fine Foods is a food wholesaler based in Tonbridge supplying chilled, frozen and ambient produce to many of the finest chefs throughout London and the South East. Due to continued growth we are looking for an additional member to join our finance team as a Senior Credit Controller.

As our senior credit controller you will take responsibility for leading our current team of two credit controllers in addition to the responsibilities below. It is a highly pressurized environment so ability to work well under pressure is a must :

- Ensuring the team are organized to meet service requirements and deliver required results
- Guarantee that all customers are aware of their payment terms and credit limits
- Put in place, where appropriate, credit checks for new and existing customers.
- Maintain and Develop Customer Portal
- Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email and letter within agreed timescales
- Maintain accurate records of all activities
- Liaise with Sales Team
- Regularly follow up with customers to ensure all relevant debts are managed
- Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required
- Send out monthly client statements/letters as may be agreed from time to time
- Resolve customer disputes in a timely fashion
- Respond promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries
- Provide ad-hoc reporting as and when requested by management
- Undertake account reconciliations as required
- Regularly review the Albion’s debt recovery procedures
- Other duties as required by management
- Issue and processing of credit notes
- Processing receipts

We are looking for the following skills and experience

- Educated to ‘A’ level or equivalent
- Experience in the following areas:
- Credit control/sales ledger
- Credit insurance
- Credit ratings (Experian)
- Legal debt collection/small claims
- Accounting skills
- Direct debits

And you must be:
- Good at motivating teams
- A confident decision maker
- An excellent communicator
- Results driven with good analytical skills
- A great negotiator
- Sympathetic and understanding
- IT & computer literate
- Positive with a proactive approach
- In an ideal world you’ll also be able to speak fluent French, but this is not essential!
