We are currently looking for a logistics operative to train and work within our dispatch department and to undertake certain tasks alongside our other departments. The successful candidate will be joining a hardworking and productive team who always has the interests and satisfaction of the individual customer at the forefront of their minds.
The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who has a commercial understanding, ability to prioritise, determine quality control, pack parcels swiftly but with due care and diligence. In addition, a great attitude and the ability to work to both individual and team targets. The candidate should be someone who can demonstrate competence, diligence (minimal errors) and maximum productivity output during all stages of the process.
The transferable business skills of a logistics operative are those who have a key role in delivering exceptional customer service; from recording customer returns, packing orders to be sent worldwide, quality control, distribution and ordering so that the needs of the customer are met. It is equally important that the candidate is able to identify the appropriate individual needs of each customer when appropriate and to have an eye for detail including numbers.
This role is based in our Westgate-on-Sea offices (close to train station) with working hours being 7 AM to 4.30 PM Monday to Friday (approx 40 hours per week).
Role and Responsibilities will also include: Ensuring customers receive their items correctly and as per order, the ability to multitask, work swiftly, prioritise workload, complete paperwork and count stock items. Taking delivery of goods and supplies including checking for damaged or missing items then storing the goods. Processing orders including the mail (post), checking frames, obtaining correct stock for posting and data entry. Dealing with suppliers via email. Picking and packing orders to be dispatched. Keeping records of stock and counting stock items. Good teamwork skills and the ability to share information, knowledge or skills with colleagues. Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness in your working environment. Flexibility with ad hoc tasks. Competent computer skills. An understanding of health and safety regulations. Honesty and reliability.
