We are resourcing for a Supplier Quality Engineer for a nice manufacturing company based in Dartford. The role will hold responsibility for managing all company suppliers, ensuring part supply is maintained and monitoring incoming material for error. The role will also require the development and coaching of suppliers to resolve quality issues through structured problem solving ensuring effective corrective and preventive are installed.

The role

* Taking responsibility for the co-ordination and delegation of tasks for inspection to ensure the effective inspection of goods.
* Visiting and collaborating with suppliers to maintain and promote a mutually beneficial working relationship. Establish an effective management system to drive supplier performance.
* Overseeing and following engineering drawings and specifications to carry out the required quality checks in line with SOP's
* Carrying out routine and ad-hoc supplier audits to ensure supplier team members are adhering to the correct measures and processes. Identify opportunities for improvement and coach suppliers in process improvement and structured problem solving.
* Take responsibility for any supplier discrepancies or issues following unpacking and checking of good received against purchase orders or invoices.
* Collecting and analysing data; providing teams with meaningful and insightful data analysis in order to support supplier continual improvement; taking responsibility for KPI's within area of responsibility
* Lead and support continual improvement activities to ensure supplier systems and processes remain current, stable, and continue to meet business requirements; monitor and support improvements where necessary to adapt to future needs.
* Be the first point of contact for all supplier quality matters.
* Reviewing Initial Sample Inspection/PPAP Reports submitted by suppliers.
* Provide supplier performance data to support the Management Review and other relevant Management meetings.

There will be requirement for European travel, therefore a valid passport will be essential. You should have demonstrable experience of working in a similar role, with responsibility for management and developing suppliers. An understanding of geometric dimensioning and Tolerance GD&T with the ability to read drawings and specifications and relate them to the product to determine conformity. Candidates with a quality-based qualification will be reviewed favourably.
