Operational Support Engineer

Our client are a global leader in propulsion solutions, and are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Operational Support Engineer to join their team. As an Operational Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Duties include:
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing operations, including machinery, equipment, and production processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address operational issues, implementing solutions to minimise downtime and optimise efficiency.
• Conduct root cause analysis investigations to identify the underlying causes of process deviations or failures and develop corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Lead or participate in process improvement projects, utilising Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive operational excellence.
• Perform data analysis to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement.
• Train and mentor production personnel on operational procedures, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate and implement new technologies or equipment to enhance operational efficiency.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying knowledge to improve manufacturing processes.
The successful candidate will have / be:
• Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or any other related field.
• Proven experience as an Operational Support Engineer or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a systematic approach to troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Proficiency in using Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodologies for process improvement.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
