Do you have experience in preparing and submitting export license applications and other required documents to Government agencies such as the Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU), and HMRC, as necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements?

We have a great opportunity in Whitstable for an Export Compliance Officer to work for one of our clients whose innovation and engineering is at the heart of their business.

Responsibilities

* Assign export control classification, tariff codes and customs descriptions of products and technologies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in our ERP system.
* Prepare and submit export license applications and other required documentation to government agencies.
* Interpret and communicate changes and terms and conditions of use for export licences.
* Interpret and communicate changes to existing regulations and new legislation to all.
* Monitor changes in export regulations and requirements and update internal policies and procedures as necessary.
* Provide training and guidance to employees on export compliance requirements and best practices.
* Maintain and update compliance records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
* Investigate and report any suspected violations of export regulations to management and regulatory agencies as required.
* Interface with government agencies, such as the Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU), and HMRC, as necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Review proposed transactions against existing export licenses to confirm compliance.
* Support internal and external audits and investigations related to export compliance.
* Restricted and denied party screening.
* Completion of customer export declaration forms.
* Develop, implement and maintain an export compliance program to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
* Conduct regular audits and assessments of export activities to identify areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions as needed.

Skills and Experience

* Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex compliance issues.
