Job Title: Cleaner
Reporting to: Cleaning Supervisor
Hourly Rate: £11.75 per hour
Holidays: 25 days plus 8 statutory days (pro rata)
Main Functions: To provide comprehensive support in the cleaning and maintenance of the school
Duties:
• To undertake day to day cleaning of the school premises to a high standard
• To ensure that all areas, corridors, and stairways are cleaned to the required standard
• To check for and report any equipment defects
• To ensure all waste bins are emptied every evening
• To comply with Health & Safety and fire regulations
• To carry out any other reasonable instructions as may be requested by the caretaker or site manager
• Undertake emergency cleaning to maintain the fabric of the building
• Support the maintenance team in ensuring that the security of the site is maintained in each of the delegated areas.
Skills/Knowledge:
• A good level and understanding of spoken English
• Ability to work unsupervised when required
• Able to work under the School’s Health & Safety policy/rules
• Hardworking and responsible
• Trustworthy and reliable
• Lifting and handling skills
• Strong teamwork skills
