We're looking for a Health and Safety Manager to join our Health and Safety team at our Head Office in Islington.

£45,000.00 per annum, working 35 hours per week.

The Health and Safety manager will, as part of a wider team, be responsible for ensuring that as an organisation, Look Ahead have effective control over the health and safety risks created by our work activities.

What you'll do:

Act as a source of competent professional advice, providing coaching to key business contacts to drive forward continual improvement and understanding of health and safety.
Maintain a visible and respected professional profile as a health and safety practitioner, ensuring that the role is valued by key stakeholders as an essential asset.
With the Senior Health & Safety Manager, work to develop and embed the Health and Safety Management System.
Take ownership for the development of the health and safety training programme by working with internal stakeholders to help build a workforce that has the skills, knowledge and attitude to work safely.
Manage specific 'business as usual' work areas including Lone Working, Display Screen Equipment, 3rd party assurance etc. Critically review current processes to identify and deliver improvements and increase efficiency.

About you:

Proven experience of providing health and safety advice and support with a multi-site environment.
Ability to understand and interpret and advise on health and safety related legislation, regulations and best practice
Ability to conduct investigations and produce reports relating to serious health and safety related incidents
Must be able to show attention to detail.
Able to prioritise and work under pressure.
Strong influencing and persuasion skills
Effective communicator and able to adjust communication approach to suit the recipient and build positive professional relationships with managers and staff alike.
Able to identify, develop and implement pragmatic solutions to problems.
Must have effective IT skills and able to manipulate data and produce effective safety KPIs and management information.
Must be resilient, organised and able to demonstrate effective time management.

What you'll bring:

Essential:

Degree or Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (level six), or equivalent, or working towards.
Knowledge of health and safety management systems
Graduate membership of IOSH
Developing and delivering internal audits and inspections.
Developing and delivering training and communications.
Experience of both the care and unsupported housing sectors.
Has worked within multidisciplinary teams.

CMIOSH (or working towards).
Formal training in implementation of ISO45001 or similar
Relevant training or qualifications including NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety, Asbestos P405, Legionella Management.
