The business is family run and independently owned and has now grown to become one of the largest independent distributors of car parts & accessories with 48 branches across the South of England.
Overview
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Payroll Manager with HR experience to join our busy and friendly team. This is a rare and exciting opportunity within the business during a period of growth.
This is an office-based role and therefore the suitable candidate must be prepared to commute daily to our head office in Aylesford, Kent.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage a team of 2 payroll administrators, offering daily support as well as undertake line manager duties
- Manage the time management system and extract data for payroll processing
- Monthly end-to end processing of the in-house payroll for approximately 500 employees
- Calculate salaries, deductions, pensions and statutory payments
- HMRC submissions and compliance with UK payroll legislation
- Month and year end reporting for directors and auditors
- Gender Pay Gap reporting, ONS reporting, P11d’s
- Maintain and update payroll records in accordance with GDPR requirements
- Keep up to date with payroll legislation changes to ensure full compliance
- Set up new starters and process leavers
- HR point of contact for Directors, Regional and Branch managers
- Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to
- Seek guidance on a wide range of HR issues from the external HR provider
- Assist with all aspects of recruitment and placement of job adverts
- Take a lead role in providing training and development
Skills
- Experience in Payroll and HR is essential
- Proven experience in Sage 50 Payroll is essential
- Educated to minimum of GCSE or above
- Ability to work accurately to deadlines
- Proactive approach
- Strong people management skills
- Knowledge of excel and accounting systems
An excellent salary is negotiable for the right candidate.
