We are currently recruiting a Factory Operative to work within an engineering company, predominately doing shot-blasting, on a permanent basis in the Medway area. You must have used small hand tools and be happy working in an industrialised environment. If you have previous fettling experience, that is advantageous. Your main duties will include: * Processing of parts as instructed * hot blasting of castings * Manual Handling * Moving boxes of castings around the factory and general housekeeping * Completing the relevant job cards * Occasional etching of castings using a vibro-etching tool * Occasional operation of the band saw. You will be working 48 hours per week * 6.00am-4.30pm, Monday-Thursday and 6.00am -2.30pm Friday Overtime is paid at an enhanced rate. Working 48 hours per week, 6.00am-4.30pm, Monday-Thursday and 6.00am -2.30pm Friday. The role involves processing castings through a variety of tasks, including fettling, linishing, shot-blasting, etching, and band saw operation. This is a han s-on position within a busy manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: * Process parts in line with Technique Cards and Works Instructions * Fettling castings using compressed air-driven hand grinding tools * Manual handling and moving boxes of castings around the factory * Use the touch screen system to log bookings * Complete job cards, recording work carried out Occasional Tasks: * Linishing castings with an upright linishing machine * Etching castings using a compressed air-driven vibro-etching tool * Shot-blasting castings with alumina grit * Operating the band saw Skills & Experience: * Previous experience in a factory or industrial environment
