Join our Engineering Team at Thanet District Council!
We're seeking an Apprentice Engineer to join our dynamic multi-disciplined Engineering Team to support in maintenance and project delivery across the Thanet district, but with a focus on the coastline. Responsibilities include carrying out defect inspections of 19 miles of coastline and making arrangements for repair, valuation of works and assisting in the preparation and implementation of coast protection and municipal engineering projects.
As an apprentice you will be required to undertake a recognised part time course of study that will lead to admission of a recognised professional institution relative to the type of work carried out by the team. Using study, training and supervision to gain experience and working knowledge to assist the established staff and to use these skills to work to own initiative.
Local government experience is not essential but a sound knowledge of engineering principals and engineering tools such as AutoCAD is.
