Background of department/role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced physiotherapist to join our team as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer. You will contribute to teaching across our pre-registration programmes, supervise students, support practice placements, and help develop and enhance the curriculum. Working within a committed academic team, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-informed education and contribute to scholarship, interprofessional learning, and the ongoing development of the programme.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the next generation of physiotherapists while strengthening our teaching, research, and professional partnerships.

You will have a strong background in physiotherapy practice and a passion for educating future practitioners. You will be a qualified physiotherapist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), with recent or current clinical experience; experience and expertise in adult neurology is preferred.

You will demonstrate a commitment to scholarship, research, and evidence-informed practice, together with a collaborative approach to curriculum enhancement and programme development.

Previous experience in a university setting would be advantageous; however, we also welcome applications from clinicians who are new to higher education. Comprehensive support and mentorship will be provided to help you transition successfully into the role.

Our Physiotherapy provision includes:

BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy at our Canterbury campus

MSc Physiotherapy (Pre-registration) at our Medway campus

Both programmes feature rich interprofessional learning opportunities, enabling staff and students to collaborate across a range of allied health disciplines. This creates a stimulating teaching environment where innovation, teamwork, and shared learning are central to the student experience.

This cross-site role offers the opportunity to work across our Canterbury and Medway campuses, engaging with a vibrant community of academics, clinicians, researchers, and students.
